Dear SUA Community,

We have a few small changes to the student uniform guidelines for NEXT SCHOOL YEAR and want to share them with you. During COVID-19, we relaxed the uniform guidelines to help the students find comfort in a time of great uncertainty. We have been gradually returning to a more simple uniform policy.

Here’s why a uniform is important: A strong and simple uniform policy has many advantages for our students and our school community:

  • Safety on campus because students are identifiable
  • It’s equitable since everyone is wearing the same thing
  • It provides pride in belonging to a group
  • Students learn the importance of dressing for an occasion or for success.

Monday-Thursday Uniform Guidelines: for 2025-2026.

Required items: Navy uniform skirt, white polo, cardigan (for Mass on designated days), ID and lanyard. This is the same as students are doing now.

Optional Items: Here’s what is different: Students will no longer be approved to wear “any” SUA sweatshirt Monday-Thursday. Students may wear their cardigan OR any of the approved Saint Ursula pullovers/sweatshirts sold in the DawgHouse. The striped rugby shirt is also still approved for Monday through Thursday. Also permitted are tapered solid colored leggings in navy, black, or grey.  We will provide more details with images about these approved items in the spring for any student.

Friday Uniform Guidelines: for 2025-2026.

Every Friday will be a spirit wear day. Students can wear SUA spirit wear on Fridays, including club and sport tees and sweatshirts. More details about this will be shared soon!

We have received some thoughtful suggestions from students since we shared this information with them last week.  We are taking those back to the committee working on the uniform for consideration.  We anticipate including a few more styles into the Monday-Thursday options in response to these suggestions.

We will have more details for you later in the spring but wanted you to have the information as soon as possible.

Go Bulldogs!

Kathy
