Dear SUA Community,
On Monday, we celebrated our final schoolwide Mass of the year - but it didn’t quite feel complete without the Class of 2025. We miss them already!
Sunday’s Graduation ceremony was a beautiful tribute to the Class of 2025 and all of their accomplishments over the years. As they sat on the stage as a class, each graduate had her own story at Saint Ursula Academy, and each one has her own path to the future. It is inspiring to see how they embody the qualities of the SUA Academy Alum: thinkers, leaders, nurturers, and prophets. We are confident they will make a meaningful impact in the world, and we can’t wait to see where their journeys take them. Congratulations, Class of 2025!
At Monday’s Mass, Fr. Murphy’s homily focused on the idea of what it feels like to be “home,” a concept more often associated with a feeling than a place. He gave some examples of his sister’s dog guarding each bedroom while its occupants drifted off to sleep and that feeling of being embraced in a hug on the lap of a beloved grandparent as a young child. At one point, he had all of us singing John Denver’s “Country Roads,” reminding us of the simple joy of feeling at home. The simple but profound point was that God wants us to feel at home with Him, in His love, security, and peace and what a great feeling that is when we open our hearts to Him.
Saint Ursula Academy has been our “home” this school year. For our freshmen, it was a new place to explore and grow. For our graduated seniors, it is now a cherished memory and place to “come home to” again and again. As the school year comes to a close, we know that the people are what makes our home here at SUA so special.
Parents and guardians, Lelia and I sincerely thank you so much for sharing your wonderful daughters with us and for all of the ways that you support them. It is truly a privilege to witness their growth as they discover more about themselves, their community, and the world around them through their academic studies and experiences at SUA. Our students inspire us. We will miss them - and their laughter in the hallways - more than we can say.
When we come back to the 2025-2026 school year in August, we are excited to implement our new schedule. Our faculty and staff have worked diligently this year to prepare, and we’re ready!
We hope your summer is exactly what your family needs—restful, joyful, and filled with great memories. Thank you for an incredible year. We can’t wait to see what next year brings.
Happy Summer! Go Bulldogs!
