Thank you to everyone who helped out during Open House. Although the look and feel of Open House may have felt a little different, the event was no less effective! The 8th graders and their families could not have been more positive and complimentary of their Open House experience. And, although the intentional spacing of the attendees and the pacing of their tours may have made it feel like we had less attendance and excitement, our event was filled to capacity with very happy attendees. Open House, along with many other Admissions activities, continue to be SOLD OUT events. Thank you for continuing to spread the good news about SUA.
Speaking of feedback, SUA recently received some new data from the College Board. Specifically, Mr. Moran and I received our AP data from the spring of 2020. Overall, AP scores for students earning a 3 or higher for 2019-2020 school year were up from the past year. Even more interesting, 2019-2020 scores were the highest for the past five years. Congratulations to our students and teachers for their enduring commitment to academic excellence at the heart of the coronavirus pandemic.
In the near future, Mr. Moran and the Counseling Department will be communicating upcoming testing options for the Class of 2023. In the spring, all statewide testing was placed on hold. We value relevant standardized testing and want to ensure that our current sophomores have a chance to test with the IOWA-E. This assessment, along with our MAP testing, will continue to ensure that our girls are progressing as thinkers, leaders, nurturers, and prophets amidst the pandemic.
We are so pleased to share this good news and we look forward to continuing the good news in the future!
