CLASS OF 2023- IOWA TESTS (Important- Action Required)
As you may know, one of the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) graduation requirements is for students to show academic proficiency through either their ACT or IOWA test scores. The majority of our students achieve this requirement through meeting the IOWA test benchmarks; doing so takes care of the requirement early on in the student’s high school career or gives the student plenty of time to retake if necessary. For the class of 2023, the IOWA tests were canceled last spring due to the onset of the pandemic. We still want these students to receive an opportunity to take the IOWA test this year without disrupting instructional time.
On Wednesday, Nov. 25, we will host the IOWA test here on campus in a safe and secure manner for our Class of 2023 sophomores. If your daughter is enrolled in our Educational Services Program, she will receive information from Arielle Balz about her testing dates and opportunities. Those students will not test on the 25th. Although we know that some families may have conflicts on that morning, we highly encourage each of our sophomores to take advantage of this opportunity to check off the box on this graduation requirement. If your daughter is not able to attend due to a previously scheduled commitment, please know that there will be other opportunities for students to meet this graduation requirement (IOWA in the future or ACT benchmarks). Students will end before 1 p.m. that day. The IOWA test is free to our students and will be completed on your student’s school laptop.
Please fill out this form to indicate whether your daughter will be present for the IOWA test or if she will not be there. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our Testing Coordinator, Jenna Wilker (email@example.com), or Assistant Principal, Chris Moran (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you indicate that your daughter will take the test on this day, we will be in touch with you about the details of the day. Please respond to the form by Wednesday, 11/11/20. Thank you and we hope to see your daughter on the 25th.
