Attendance Policies

Date: November 17, 2020
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Parents and Guardians,

I wanted to provide you with a reminder about our attendance policies during this unprecedented year.

Please follow these policies and procedures regardless of whether your daughter is working remotely or in-person; the process is the same for both situations.

If your daughter is sick with no COVID-19 test pending

Parents/Guardians must report non-COVID related absences by 9:00am by calling the attendance line (872-7160). The Attendance Director will contact the parent’s/guardian’s cell phone if a student is unaccounted for.  The student should just stay home and feel better; no remote learning will happen on these days.

If your daughter is staying home due to a pending COVID-19 test or is traced out, and she is having symptoms

Parents/Guardians must contact Chris Moran (cmoran@saintursula.org)  and Jodi Clever (jclever@saintursula.org) as soon as they know that their daughter is staying home. Please remind your daughter to not reach out to teachers until she hears from Mrs. Clever.  Mr. Moran will then work with teachers.  We want to ensure teachers hear the situation from us first.

Since your daughter is having symptoms, we want her to focus on getting better.  There will be no expectation for remote learning if your daughter is feeling sick.

If the decision is made the morning of the school day, please still report your student’s absence by 9:00am by calling the attendance line (872-7160) as well as contacting Mrs. Clever and Mr. Moran. The Attendance Director will contact the parent’s/guardian’s cell phone if a student is unaccounted for.

Please remind your daughter to not reach out to teachers until she hears from Mrs. Clever.  Mr. Moran will then work with teachers to set up your student with opportunities to learn remotely.

Other Important Information

With the modified school day, please make every attempt to schedule appointments and trips that do not conflict with the school day.  Also, note that we do not allow girls to just jump in and out of remote learning; a valid reason for an extended absence is required for students to work remotely.
