Parent Bulletin

Date:02/25/2626
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Dear SUA Community,

While our weather can’t exactly decide if it is spring or winter, the occasional sunshine and warm days remind us that spring is coming.  This is the time of the school year when we are making plans for a strong finish for one year and looking forward to the next.

One of the most important elements that happens this month to set up your daughter for success in the next school year is the course selection process.  As students consider and select courses for the '26-'27 school year, one of the best ways that you can support your daughter is to engage in the process with her.  Have some conversations around questions such as the following:

  • What courses are you thinking about?  And most importantly, why?
  • What are your goals for next year and beyond?  And how do these courses fit with these goals?
  • How are you feeling about the workload?  How do the courses reflect “appropriate challenge” and allow time for wellness and balance?
  • Students will have their minimester placements for December and May of '26-'27 by today.  How do these courses fit into the overall plan?

Generally, some open-ended questions and a listening ear may help students clarify their thoughts and create helpful dialogue.  Included in this Parent Bulletin is the Curriculum Guide, which contains information about the expansive curricular offerings at Saint Ursula Academy.

Our amazing counseling team is always there to help!  Students will meet their counselor for individual sessions to review their plans, and counselors will enter the course requests into PowerSchool.  Once course requests are in PowerSchool, they are visible to students and parents for further reference.

The course selection process will be complete in the month of March.  In April, parents and guardians will be asked to “sign off” on students’ course requests in Final Forms.  This is a great step to make certain that all are on the same page before these requests are actually scheduled in PowerSchool.  In July, students received their schedule for 26-27, including bells and teachers.

Thank you for your partnership in this important process.  Please know that we are always here to help.

Go Bulldogs!
