It is hard to believe we are already three weeks into our new semester.  Lelia and I feel so blessed to have effectively transitioned into our revised schedule.  And, we are pleased that our community members continue to do their part to practice the SUA COVID-19 safety protocols. Thank you SUA.

After two weeks of lunch service, it is clear that Vonderhaar’s boxed lunches are a hit!  This week, we introduced a cheese quesadilla, along with some additional snack options.  Vonderhaar's boxed lunch is $7.00; snacks range from $1.00 to $3.00.  Students can use MySchoolBucks or cash to pay for the lunch and snack items in the Bulldog Fresh Market.  Please take some time to check your student’s balance to ensure she has funds available to purchase lunch from the Bulldog Fresh Market.   Additionally, we have three self-serve vending machines available.  The vending machines include a variety of options like salads, snacks, and sandwiches.  The vending machines accept cash, credit cards, Apple pay, and Google pay.  MySchoolBucks cannot be used for the vending machines. Finally, we have five microwaves strategically positioned through the Keller Student Center.

The Bulldog Boost continues to gain popularity!  For the rest of the semester, the student-run Boost coffee shop will be open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.

When the week comes to a close, our students will wrap up our No Name Calling Week.  Our core values call us to be Christ-centered, to celebrate the dignity of each person and as Saint Angela said "to build community wherever you go!"  What better way to celebrate our Christ-centered community, than to challenge each of us to live more kindly in our daily interactions with each person. We will continue the call to be kind to one another by celebrating Catholic Schools Week next week.

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2021 is January 31 – February 6. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2021 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”
