Today is a great day to be a Bulldog! Although our current students were not on campus, it was abuzz with our newest members of the Class of 2025! Thank you to the entire SUA community for continuing to share the good news about Saint Ursula Academy.
We learned that Elizabeth Volk '21 has been named as a candidate in the 2021 United States Presidential Scholars Program. Of the nearly 3.6 million high school seniors graduating this year, Elizabeth is one of approximately 4,500 students to receive this invitation. Congratulations Elizabeth!
We are proud to share that SUA is the recipient of the College Board's AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to AP Computer Science Principles (CSP).
When we welcomed our new students, we shared important details about the 2021-2022 school year. Included in this information was our 2021-2022 At a Glance Calendar. Next year’s calendar is now available on the SUA website under Family Resources.
Additionally, Lelia and I want to share that we recently surveyed the students about their time on campus since January 7. We are pleased to share that the students are feeling safe and supported on the SUA campus. Although the majority are doing well, we do have a few students that we are continuing to support socially, emotionally, and academically. One very rewarding piece of the student data was their appreciation of Distance Learning Wednesdays. Over 475 students completed the survey and 78% said that the DL Wednesdays were effective and valuable. The students report they appreciate the opportunity to connect with their teachers without the barrier of the mask. Consequently, Lelia and I have concluded that it is important that our students and faculty have two (2) Distance Learning Wednesdays in February, which gives them an opportunity to interact with each other maskless. The two Distance Learning Wednesdays in February are Feb. 3 and Feb. 10. Please mark your calendars.
Your feedback is important to us, too! We will be sharing a Third Quarter Schedule survey the week of February 8. Students will receive a longer survey that week, as well. That week marks the mid-quarter and we believe that it is the right time to collect feedback! We will also mail out informational letters to parents of students in the Classes of 2021 and 2022.
