Parent Bulletin

Notes from the Principal

Date: February 2, 2021
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Saint Ursula Academy is pleased to share that our faculty and staff will receive their first COVID-19 vaccination the week of February 8.  We are part of Phase 1B Week 2 rollout for essential employees.  Although we are waiting for the final details that will assign our date and time, we wanted to share this information as it will impact our schedule one day during the week of February 8.  Once we know more about the timeline and scheduling of SUA vaccinations, we will plan adjustments to our schedule for that day. We understand there may be a need to modify our operations depending upon the nature of mass vaccine distribution, and we will communicate plans ahead of time. Since we will be receiving the Pfizer vaccine, the SUA community will receive the second dose 21 days out.

Once we know the final details for the week of February 8, we will plan accordingly for the schedule adjustments the week of March 1. Thank you all for demonstrating patience in the coming month as we navigate staff rounds of two doses of vaccine.

Just as we stand strong to do the right thing to keep our community healthy during the pandemic, we are standing strong to ensure that the Greater Cincinnati Food Banks have the necessary supplies to stock their shelves.  The 2021 SUA Community D.R.I.V.E. provides food and personal care items to several area agencies:  Mercy Neighborhood Ministries, Queen City Kitchen and Open Door Ministry in Walnut Hills, St. George Food Pantry and Little Sisters of the Poor in Clifton.  The agencies that we support are counting on SUA to help stock their shelves. Your daughter can make a real difference!

The SUA D.R.I.V.E. was to end on Tuesday, February 2, but due to our inclement weather day, we have decided to extend the D.R.I.V.E. through Thursday, February 4. Please consider sending in shelf-stable food or personal care items now through Thursday.  During this unprecedented time of the pandemic, the need for food support in the Cincinnati area is tremendous and agencies are stretched as never before.

As Pope Francis recently shared, education must focus on leading people to a personal relationship with Christ and building a community of believers where the talents of each person are valued and where all go out to share the Gospel and serve the poor.  Thank you for helping us live our mission, each and every day.

See you at SUA Palooza this Saturday! You can REGISTER for free up until the virtual event.
