This Wednesday, February 17, marks the beginning of Lent, the 40 days of preparation for Easter. At this time, we are all called to deepen our spiritual lives through the practices of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. For many, it is a time to “give- up” something that you enjoy. This year, let’s try something different. This year, let’s try to find new ways to grow and deepen our faith. At a time when we are all still feeling a little down and frustrated by the COVID-19 pandemic, a commitment to strengthening our faith seems like just the right call to action to get us through the next few months. Looking for some inspirational activities, consider participating in one of Saint Ursula Academy’s virtual Lenten experiences: Meditation Monday, Communion Service (Tuesday and Thursday), Rosary (Wednesday), and/or Lenten Bible Study.
Faith in Action days are just a week away. We are all looking forward to spending time with our freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors as they live their faith through service. Faith in Action days are required school days; refer to page 23 of the Student/Parent Handbook for specific attendance expectations.
Parents of juniors and seniors should have received an important mailer from me. The mailer included essential information about graduation and other events that occur in May. Lelia and I are looking forward to these year-end celebrations, especially our senior events. The Class of 2021 has been strong, resilient, and inspirational.
Winter is certainly still with us. In the event of inclement weather, we will continue to use OneCallNow to communicate our instructional plans. If you have changed your cell number or email address, please remember to update your contact information in FinalForms.
