Dear Saint Ursula Community,

By the time you receive this bulletin, your daughter will have exams and testing behind her.  Hopefully, feelings of relief have set in along with some excitement for the long weekend ahead.

It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the semester already.  There is one important procedural change with lunch balances that we are starting with the second quarter.  In the first quarter, we allowed students’ lunch account balances to go well into the negative.  Sometimes this practice has created situations where the student is charging more frequently than the parents have budgeted for or expected. Starting in the second quarter, once an account balance has reached minus-$24, the equivalent of three full lunches as a “grace period,” students will no longer be allowed to charge.  They will still be able to pay for any purchases with cash.  We will continue weekly notifications via email when students’ lunch account balances go into the negative.  Students can check their balances at the register, and signage in the Bulldog Fresh Market will remind students.  We appreciate your help in this matter!

I am going to keep my message short this week: parents and caretakers also deserve a little break. Please help us spread the word about our Open House on Sunday, October 22, 1-4 pm.  Our Admissions Team of Michelle Dellecave and Mandy Maddox have been doing an excellent job letting area girls learn about and experience SUA.  Most recently, we had over 175 grade school girls join us for a home volleyball game.  Our shadowing numbers are outpacing expectations at this time.  The interest in our school is great - and for good reason.  We appreciate all of the ways that you share the opportunities at SUA with prospective students and families.  Yard signs are still available for girls to pick up at all of the exits!

I hope you all enjoy a little more time with your daughter this weekend.  Lelia and I are so grateful for your support through the start of the school year and look forward to a great second term.
