Dear Saint Ursula Community,
Whatever your plans were for the spring break, Lelia and I hope that you and your family enjoyed it. We hope that there was time to relax as well as fun, memorable moments.
One of the things that I love about working in schools is their various "seasons." The one that we are entering - after spring break and before summer break - is one of the busiest. Many students are preparing for AP exams that start in early May. In some way or another, students wrestle with their desire to finish strong while wanting to ease into summer. There are so many culminating activities and events that add to this season. That could not be more true for the students in the Class of 2024 and their families who are going to be experiencing many traditions and celebrations to mark their time at SUA. It is a season that feels like A LOT, with days that sometimes feel like weeks and weeks that go by like days.
I am not pointing this out to be negative or pessimistic; it is likely that we all feel it in one way or another. Everyone has their own ways of coping with busy times like these. My advice to the students is always to be as present in the moment as possible and take it one step at a time. For parents, I know that you have the additional challenge of coordinating activities and events and figuring out how to make the schedule “work” for your SUA student and perhaps other children in your family. I will focus my letters in the upcoming editions of the Parent Bulletin on “what you need to know” to help you keep it all straight.
So, for the week ahead: consider it an accomplishment to help your daughter reacclimate to the school schedule! Above that, here are a few other things to note:
Hope you have a great week. Go Bulldogs!
Kathy
