Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! Lelia and I hope that your summer has included time to relax, create memories, and have a few adventures with those that you love. The “back to school” season is in full swing, and we cannot wait to welcome our students back to campus. We especially look forward to getting to know the Class of 2028 and all of our new Bulldogs!
We know that as parents you are trying to keep track of many details to help your daughter be ready for the upcoming school year, and we appreciate all of your efforts. For easy reference, please see the links to the summer letters in the Parent Resource section of the website that are tailored to each grade and provide helpful reminders for the start of the school year. Also, be certain to reference the “Back-to-School Calendar” link as it provides a day-by-day outline of the first week of school.
Schedule Updates for 25-26
I love the start of the school year because it contains so much promise and optimism about the countless opportunities a new year holds. One of the great opportunities of this school year is sharing information about our new schedule and preparing for its implementation in 2025-2026.
As a Saint Ursula parent, you doubtless chose to send your daughter to SUA for a variety of reasons, one of those likely being our reputation for academic excellence. That academic excellence is integral to the mission of Saint Ursula Academy and our commitment to delivering a vibrant and exceptional educational experience is always at the forefront of our minds.
Every 5-7 years or so, we formally review our schedule approach to ensure that what we’re offering is in line with contemporary learning styles, is both efficient and effective, and ultimately also helps to develop our girls into not only successful students but fully rounded young women ready to go out into the world and shine.
As we shared last spring, a great deal of time and analysis goes into this process. We have completed our latest review and we’re excited to let you know that we plan to implement changes to our collegiate block schedule in August of 2025.
These changes are an evolution as they build on what our students already know and love about the current schedule. The new schedule features student-centered learning approaches, which have been peer-reviewed in consultation with highly respected academic experts and blends them with existing styles that are tried, trusted, and proven to work with SUA students and staff alike.
Informational Evening for Parents/Guardians
We invite and encourage you to come to the school on Thursday, September 12 to hear more information about the new schedule in greater detail. It’s part of an evening filled with events for parents/guardians. The Sept. 12 evening will feature:
Taste of SUA 5:00 - 7:00pm Front Circle
Meet and Greet with Teachers 6:15 - 6:45 pm SUA Classrooms and Campus
SUA Schedule Information Session 7:00 pm SUA Gymnasium and Convocation Center
We hope you can attend as the New Schedule Information Session will give you a chance to understand the changes we will be making and ask any questions you may have. More information about the September 12th evening will be coming in upcoming Parent Bulletins.
