Dear SUA Community,
Lelia and I are happy to share that we had an outstanding Open House on Sunday! We had over 250 families from across the Tri-State area visit our campus. It is an absolute pleasure to meet the prospective students and their families, many of whom bring multiple generations and are excited to share prior connections to SUA.
One of the best parts of Open House is the energy on campus right before we officially open the doors. We had over 100 Ambassadors gathered in the Chapel who had prepped for this event for weeks. I wasn’t much of an athlete in high school, but I imagine the feeling is similar to the locker room before going out for a championship game. As the students threw their arms around each other and sang “A New Dawn,” it was obvious how much they value their sisterhood and could not wait to share it with our prospective students. Many thanks again to our admissions team of Michelle Dellecave and Mandy Maddox.
As parents/guardians of current students, I want to remind you of the information session on Monday, November 11, at 7 pm. This will be a virtual meeting that you can join with this link. We are looking forward to sharing more details about the new schedule and particularly the minimester options that the students will have in '25-'26. There are so many exciting options that our faculty is developing!
Also as an aide to our parents/guardians, I want to draw your attention to the two-week calendar that is linked to the cover email of the Parent Bulletin. The two-week calendar gives the daily schedule for the next two weeks of school. We consider this a document internal to our community since it contains detailed information regarding our schedule, and we ask for you to use it as such. Please note that the school calendar also provides schedule information in a slightly different format: the designation of schedules such as “Blue,” “Gold,” “Bulldogs,” etc. corresponds to these bell schedules. There is so much going on at SUA; our hope is that including this calendar will help with everything from transportation plans to conversations about student experiences.
Enjoy the Halloween festivities! It is fun to see our students expressing their creativity with their costumes and enjoying trick or treating on campus. They are growing into young women, but including the joys of childhood is also really great at times too.
Go Bulldogs!
Kathy
