AquaDawgs and BowlDawgs Finish Strong

The Saint Ursula Academy Swim and Dive team was well represented at the state meet last Friday. Diver Mia Meinhardt '22 moved up 6 places from her semi-final standing to finish 6th place overall in the state dive meet! Way to finish strong, Mia! Swimmers Ellen Lange '23 and Natalie Gockerman '24 placed 7th and 8th respectively in the 500 freestyle and received medals for their finish. Overall, AquaDawgs were the highest placed GGCL team that competed at the state meet, finishing 14th overall.

The BowlDawgs also finished 14th overall at last week's district tournament. Although they did not qualify to advance to the state tournament, the team set another school record, scoring almost 150 points higher than the previous record. Although the team says goodbye to four year bowler Carlotta Dattilo '21, the team is situated to compete well next year with four of the top five bowlers returning: Alli Shattuck '23, Lauren McConnell '22, Meghan Donovan '22, and Payton Beard '24.

Spring Sports Meet the Team

The Meet the Team information meetings for lacrosse, softball, and track & field will be Monday, March 8. All spring athletes and at least one parent are required to attend. To limit the number of people assembled, each team will meet separately. The schedule, and other important information for this upcoming season, can be found in the Spring Newsletter on the Spring Sports page of the website.

Sports Registration for 2021-22

Beginning March 1, parents can register their daughter for sports for the 2021-22 school year. This is done through the parent's FinalForms login. The SUA Athletic Department uses the registration from FinalForms to determine which students are interested in trying out for the athletic teams. This registration allows the Athletic Department and coaches to email information about summer conditioning and fall tryouts to the interested families. Registering for a sport on FinalForms does not require the student to actually participate on the team, nor does it guarantee a final roster spot for any of the teams.
