The Dawgs are Back!
With the field hockey and cross country teams competing this past weekend, it is now official: The Dawgs are back in action! All six sports have started their seasons with competitions and are competing well. Volleyball defeated Mason last week and will have three consecutive matches against GGCL foes starting this Thursday. Varsity A tennis has racked up an impressive 6-1 start to the season and will face a good Ursuline team Thursday. Varsity soccer gave head coach Dan Barraza his first SUA win against GGCL opponent Mercy McAuley last week. Soccer will play Ursuline at home tonight. Varsity golf teed up a win against MND last week and is preparing to play in the GGCL Tournament next Tuesday. Field hockey netted 11 goals against Talawanda last Saturday and will face a tough MND squad tomorrow night under the lights at SUA. Varsity cross country finished third last Friday behind two top 5 ranked teams at the Moeller Invitational. Here are Coach Bird's notes to the team from the meet: We had 84 finishers, the most ever for an SUA XC team. Avery Stewart's 4th place and Brooke Hunstad 's 7th place finishes were our highest individual places in 6 years. And, this was in the field with the 3rd and 5th teams in the State! Ellie Hoffman dropped 3:45.0 from her last year's race! Brenna Bohan won her first race ever as a Bulldog! That was a mic drop moment.
All of the teams are competing this week. Scores are updated in the Team Schedule section on the Fall Sports page.
Booster gifts will be given to students this week. Check your daughter's backpack to see if she picked up your family's gift.
