Softball Senior Night

The softball team will honor its three seniors Friday evening at their home game against Newport Central Catholic and RiverCity East. Congratulations to Olivia Kelley, Marie Mechely, and Lydia Winter for their four-year devotion to the softball program. Their leadership this season is very much appreciated as the squad worked through not having played last season due to the pandemic.

Spring Sports Update

Lacrosse will play its last home game this Saturday against Wyoming. Good luck to both teams!

The past weekend, the softball team plated 24 runs in three games at the Princeton Tournament, narrowly missing the victory against Princeton in the first game and finishing with a strong 11-1 victory against Oyler in the final game.

The track and field teams continue to have a great season as they prepare for the GGCL meet next week. The Bulldogs attended four meets this past week, winning three of four meets and placing 3rd at East Central Varsity Meet.
At the East Central Meet, the reserve team scored in every event, double scoring in 8 events.  Event winners were the 4x800 relay, consisting of Margo Kelley '23, Chloe Hubert '24, Rachel Zeller '23 and Michaela Schulze '22Abby Fermann '22 in the 1600m run; Stella McNab '23 in the 400m; Annelise Salomon '23 in the 200m; Natalie Ehrler '22 in the 3200m; and the 4x400 relay with Grace Gillock '24, Dana Zimmer '24, Ellie Hoffman '22 and Alivia Hyland '21.  Many other girls had PRs at this meet!
In the East Central Varsity meet, event winners were Gigi Winter '23 in the 400m, running our fastest open of the year 1:03.2; and Grace Pavloff '23 in the 3200m, setting a PR with a 12:20.3 (with Natalie Hubert '23 a close 2nd behind her).  The Bulldogs scored in 12 of the 16 events, again with many PRs.
The RaceDawgs wrapped up the week competing at the Roosevelt meet.  This traditionally is a high-quality sprint meet.  The Bulldogs took 1st place with 118 points, 7 points more than Trotwood Madison.  Event winners were the 4x800 relay consisting of Pavloff, Katy Kendall '23, Brooke Hunstad '22, and Hoffman; Kennedy Rugless '23 in the 100m dash; Maggie Braun '22 in the 1600m, with Ruth Fermann '23 taking 2nd; Avery Stewart '23 in the 400m run; and Deirdre Carroll '21 in the 3200m run, with Kelsey Mangold '21 just behind for 2nd.
