Spring Sports Update
The lacrosse teams play two non-conferences this week--at home against Springboro on Thursday (which you can watch live) and at Anderson on Saturday--before resuming GGCL next Tuesday with home games against Ursuline. The LaxDawgs scored a solid win last week against Mercy McAuley and dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to Walnut Hills. How did the teams do last night against GGCL foe MND? Check the Spring Sports page to find out!
The softball team hits the road for the next week as it looks to record the first win of the season. The TakeMeOutToTheBallgameDawgs will face MND, Newport Central Catholic, Middletown, Mercy McAuley, and Villa Madonna before returning home to play McNicholas.
COVID-19 has restricted the number of track and field invitational meets this spring, with meets that are being run limiting the number of participants in the meets. With the large number of RunningDawgs on the team, the coaches are working extra hard to get all of the girls to compete. Results from this week's Indian Hill Relays and JV Elder Meet will be in next week's bulletin.
Summer Conditioning and Practices
Coaches are finalizing dates, times, and locations for summer conditioning, open gyms, and summer skills practices. The Athletics Overview and Summer Programs page of our website has general dates and information, with more specific information contained in each sport's Program Information document.
To receive email notifications from coaches about summer programs and fall tryout information, register for that sport using the parent's FinalForms account. Our coaches use the information from FinalForms to generate email lists. Registering on FinalForms does not obligate the student to tryout for the team, nor does it guarantee a final roster spot.
Six of our twelve sports occur in the fall season--cross country, field hockey, golf, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. The first day of tryouts for these sports will be Monday, August 2, 2021. Any student wishing to tryout for a fall sport MUST be present for all tryouts and subsequent practices starting on Monday, August 2, 2021. Summer sport activities that occur in June and July are not mandatory, but students are encouraged to attend these sessions as much as possible. Families of fall sports athletes are encouraged to conduct family travel and vacations prior to August 2.
