Fall Athletes in the Classroom
Congratulations to all of our athletes for not only persevering through a challenging season with the COVID adjustments; but also adjusting their work habits for their classes. 83% of the 275 fall athletes were recognized on the Academic Honor Roll for their work in the first quarter. A few notable accomplishments include:
-The three soccer teams had the highest percentage of all six programs with number of athletes who earned first or second honors. 91% of the KickDawgs made the honor last quarter. Every member of the varsity soccer team made the honor roll while they played this past season!
-The cross country team is our largest squad (96 runners), with 84 of the RunDawgs earning honor roll. This includes every member of the varsity team!
-The three tennis teams combined to 87% of their players earning Academic Honors in the first quarter.
Winter Sports Update
The three winter sports teams have been preparing for the start of the competition season. Basketball will open the season at home this Saturday against Badin. You can catch the game on our livestream by visiting the Watch Games Live page of our website.
Bowling started its season yesterday with a match against Loveland. You can get results for all of the teams by selecting the "schedule" icon for that team on the Winter Sports page.
Swimming continues to train both in and out of the water. The first intrasquad meet is scheduled for the Sunday after Thanksgiving, with an interscholastic competition commencing the week we return from Thanksgiving.
Due to COVID restrictions, spectators will not be allowed or limited to all interscholastic competitions this winter. If you are interested in seeing a game, match, or meet, contact the SUA Athletic Department or a member of the SUA team for that sport. We appreciate your understanding while we try to do our best to provide these teams with a safe environment for them to compete this winter.
