ATHLETICS: Tournament Updates; Winter GGCL All Stars; Spring Sport Tryouts

Winter Tournament Updates

The varsity basketball team defeated Oak Hills last week in the first round of the tournament. Emily Domingo '22 and Shamia Strayhorn '21 led the way with 17 and 16 points respectively, with Abby Boeing '22 contributing 11 points in the paint. Starters Halle Morgan '22 and Emma Voelkerding '22 added another 7 points. The HoopDawgs outscored Oak Hills 16-4 in the third quarter behind solid defense. The win advanced the team to play Princeton in the second round. How did they do? Check out the Winter Sports page for the result!

The bowling team continues its strong season in the sectional tournament today at Crossgate Lanes. Good luck to Carlotta Datillo '21, Meghan Donovan '22, Mary Anhofer '23, Alli Shattuck '23, Lauren McConnell '22, and Payton Beard '24. Again, check out the Winter Sports page for the result!

Diver Mia Meinhardt '22 finished 3rd and teammate Anna Mussman '23 finished 11th in the sectional dive meet last week. Mia and Anna were scheduled to dive in the district meet on Tuesday. Check out the Winter Sports page to track their progress.

Good luck to the following members of the swim team who will be competing this Friday in the District Meet: Caitlyn Clements '21 (50 free); Sophia Dugan '21 (50 free); Natalie Gockerman '24 (200 free & 500 free); Sydney Herr '24 (200 IM, & 100 back); Ellen Lange '23 (200 IM & 500 free); Courtney McKeown '23 (100 fly & 100 back); Emma Perera '21 (200 free & 100 free); Victoria Perera '24 (50 free) and Amanda Serger '22 (100 free & 100 back). Winter GGCL All Stars

The Bulldogs are well represented on the GGCL All Star lists. In addition to the following girls who made first team, second team, and honorable mention, swimmer Natalie Gockerman '24 was named Swimmer of the Year and SUA bowling coach Dominique Walker was named Coach of the Year.

Spring Sports Tryouts

Information about changes to dates, times, or location of tryouts for lacrosse and softball will be emailed via FinalForms to those students who are registered for the sport. The parent's FinalForms account must be used to register a student for a spring sport.
