COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING: Personal Care Drive, Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice

Date: October 16, 2020
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Personal Care Drive - October 26-November 13: Personal Care for the Individual is one of the 10 Ursuline Characteristics emphasized through academic and non-academic programs at Saint Ursula Academy. Called to serve accordingly, we annually collect new Personal Care Products to donate to local social service agencies. This year, our Personal Care Drive theme is Power in-the-House! and the collection will run from October 26-November 13. We will support four local organizations with our donations: Episcopal Retirement Communities, Shelterhouse, Bethany House, and Women of Alabaster. Top donation needs are laundry detergent (pods only, please) paper towels, and toilet paper. Donations can be placed in class designated bins in East Foyer.  For more information about the agencies, the student leaders, and what to donate CLICK HERE.

Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice: We have 16 students and faculty/staff participating in this year's VIRTUAL Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice which begins this week. Please keep these participants in your thoughts and prayers as they learn about key issues of justice and how to advocate locally and nationally. This experience wraps up in March when these students will meet with local government representatives to share their ideas and asks for three main issues: immigration, environmental justice, and racial justice.
