It’s time for students to start thinking about courses for next year! The final draft of the 2024-25 SUA Curriculum Guide is near completion and will be posted on the Academics page of our website when available. We have many opportunities for each student to learn about the academic advising process, available courses, new courses, and timeline for course registration. On February 2, freshmen will learn about the schedule process during Gold Bell. On February 5, sophomores will get a schedule process refresh/reminder, and on February 6, juniors will have the same. On Friday, February 9, during Gold Bell, all current 9th-11th grade students will gather in the gym for the Elective Fair Presentations to learn about all electives from each department, including the new CCP offerings through the University of Cincinnati: Essentials of Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design Thinking. All students meet with their counselor individually in the month of March to select their course requests and all parents are required to sign off on their student’s schedule requests in April through Final Forms. Is your rising junior or senior interested in taking the new University of Cincinnati Entrepreneurship class at SUA or the Engineering Design Thinking course next year? Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for the College Credit Plus virtual information session on Tuesday, February 13 at 6pm so that you will know how to register for and secure the free college credit offered through the ODE’s CCP program. All students enrolled in an AP course this school year will take the accompanying AP exam in early May during the school day. HERE is a link to the full schedule. In early spring families with students who are enrolled in AP courses will receive information from the SUA business department about their AP Exam payment which will be billed through your FACTS account. Counseling Testing Coordinator Elizabeth Jutte will take care of the registration and ordering for all exams and send out communication to the students about exam times and locations.
