COUNSELING: Flags for Declaration Day, Selective Scholarships and Essays for Juniors, Bulldog Blast

Date:03/31/2626
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Parents of Seniors: We're gearing up for our student body celebration of the Class of 2026's post-secondary plans during Declaration Day on May 7th at 10:10 am in the gym! To help facilitate the coordination of flags for the parade, we are asking for families to take a look at the list of needed flags, and please consider signing up to let us borrow a particular flag for the event if you own it. We will update this list as more students officially enroll in their respective colleges. There will be a bin in Counseling for students to drop off flags. We ask that flags are dropped off by April 30th. Please drop it off in a ziplock bag with your daughter's name on it, and we'll return it promptly after the event. Parents are welcome to attend or to join us via Facebook Live from the Saint Ursula Academy Facebook page!

Parents of Juniors:

  • The Counseling Department is sharing this list of selective scholarships with juniors that certain competitive universities offer annually. Some require a counselor nomination. There are also scholarships on the list that allow students to self-nominate. Students interested in being nominated or self-nominating for any of these scholarships should contact their counselor!
  • Counselors have been in Brit. Lit. classes this semester presenting to juniors about how to start and write an awesome Personal Statement. Counselors are always here if your daughter wants to talk further about this important college essay that will be sent to each of the schools to which she applies. There are many awesome resources in her college folder from her Junior Meeting, and The College Essay Guy has a treasure trove of free resources to help, too!
