Parents of Freshmen: Last week freshmen received an email to pick up their IOWA reports from the March test date. IOWA is a series of tests measuring academic achievement in key areas such as English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. As a non-public school in the state of Ohio, Saint Ursula Academy has the ability to use the IOWA Assessment to earn graduation points for your student's path to a high school diploma. Students who take the IOWA Assessment will need to earn a score of competency or above in Math and English Language Arts (made up of Reading, Written Expression and Vocab subtests). Enclosed with their report is a letter if those requirements have been met. If your student did not meet the requirements on this first go around, you would have received an email from Tiffany Berry. Tiffany will follow up with your student about retaking the portion(s) needed next fall! Please reach out to Tiffany Berry at tberry@saintursula.org with any additional questions about the IOWA!
Parents of Sophomores: Pre-ACT results are in. Your students were informed last week and were able to pick them up from their counselor. Results came with the student's test booklet to be able to review questions and their answers for extra practice. This Understanding your Pre-ACT results page goes into more depth about how to read and understand the results and information provided on the test report.
Parents of Juniors: Juniors may begin asking for their college letter of recommendation from a teacher on Monday, April 27. They may ask for a second letter (if needed) beginning Monday, May 4. All juniors were emailed instructions on how to ask for the letters and how to add the teacher(s) to their Scoir accounts in order to be set up for fall application season!
Parents of Seniors:
On Thursday, May 7 at lunch, all students are invited to our HBCU Showcase featuring SUA alumnae currently attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This is a great opportunity to learn more about HBCUs, ask questions, and gain valuable perspective from SUA grads! Alumnae attending are from Hampton University, Tennessee State University, Tuskegee University, and Winston-Salem University.
AP Testing begins Monday, May 4. All AP testing locations and reminders are emailed to students! AP Testing fees have posted to your FACTS account at this time. AP scores are typically available in early July. Seniors should plan to have them sent to their attending college.
Bulldog Blast for this week is here!
