Parents of Seniors, the following information was sent to seniors about selective scholarship opportunities:

• The Counseling Department is sharing this list of selective scholarships that certain competitive universities offer annually. Some require a counselor nomination. There are also scholarships on the list that allow you to self-nominate. If there is a university on the list that you are definitely applying to and you would like to be considered for a nomination to their corresponding selective scholarship program, please complete this application, indicating your interest, and return it to your counselor by Sept. 2nd.

• A quick reminder! College Night for Seniors and Families is tomorrow, August 28 at 6pm. We will share important information and reminders about the SUA college application process, deadlines, and policies as your seniors begin to finalize and submit their first apps! We will also hear from a couple of college admissions representatives as they share tips and guidance for this fall. Please RSVP here! The event is virtual and you can log onto the Google Meet from anywhere!

Next Tuesday, September 2, the counseling department will hold the first “Brave Ones” meeting of the year! This group is for any freshman who is the only one from her elementary school to attend SUA. We look forward to bringing this special group together throughout the year.

BARC, or Bulldog Academic Resource Center, will begin providing services in September! BARC is the program we use to help students needing extra support in any course. Students needed tutoring support are paired with an upperclasswoman peer tutor to meet during WIN time. Any student can utilize BARC by talking to their counselor to get paired with a tutor!
