It is hard to believe that we are just over two weeks into the '20-'21 school year; it feels a little like two months! SUA has experienced COVID-19 exposures and test positives, we have experienced unexpected neighborhood visitors, and we endured some alarming neighborhood vandalism. However, we have COVD-19 policies and protocols in place, school resource officers committed to the safety and security of our girls, and an amazing facilities team that tends to all campus needs. Lelia and I will always be open and transparent in the event that we have important news to share.
Recently, Governor DeWine shared that all schools must create a method to communicate COVID-19 activity. Lelia, Jodi, and I are working on the SUA COVID-19 Dashboard and will have this information ready to share in next week’s Parent Bulletin. This information will be included in the COVID-19 section of the bulletin.
Congratulations to our fall athletes for a successful two weeks. Despite the increased social mitigation requirements, our athletes are making the most of the new routines and enjoying being back together as a team!
Thank you to all of our families who are doing their part to wear masks, social distance, and AVOID large gatherings. It is clear that if we all do our part to practice the recommended social mitigations practices, we reduce the transmission and spread of the novel coronavirus. The more we reduce the spread, the greater the likelihood that our girls can remain on campus. As we head into Labor Day Weekend, remember that we have a part in keeping the SUA campus open by adhering to social mitigation practices!
The 20-21 SUA Meet the Teacher Night will be virtual. We will send out a compilation of teacher videos at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 3. Mark your calendars.
Happy Labor Day Weekend!
