The first month of school has flown by and much can be said about the array of student and faculty/staff successes. Our fall athletes have demonstrated great commitment to social mitigation practices, along with superior sportsmanship both on and off the field or course! Our ES students have begun to establish successful work habits to perform at their very best within their face-to-face classes, along with their distance learning Wednesday. Our entire student body stretched themselves as we call each and every girl to socially mitigate during break, as well as before and after school. It has been challenging for some, but for others, it has become second nature. Thank you to all families who are helping to reinforce the importance of social distancing, wearing masks, and LIMITING large gatherings.
Additionally, the students were recently invited to attend our first virtual Club and Organization Fair earlier today. The Club and Organization student leaders did an amazing job with their promotional videos. Our girls continue to impress us with the amount of technological growth over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic; you should be proud too.
Our faculty continue to grow in ways to support courageous conversations through our monthly connections with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) experts Katrice Quitter and Lena Patton from Hamilton County Educational Service Center. And, our School Leadership Team is regularly engaging in data driven decision making regarding COVID-19 policies, practices, and protocols. Please look for a COVID-19 family survey next week.
It has been a very busy and energizing first month of school! Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, SUA continues to find the silver linings and move forward as a strong and vibrant sisterhood of thinkers, leaders, nurturers, and prophets.
