An important notification from the principal

We have received notification of a positive case of COVID-19 identified at Saint Ursula Academy.  In collaboration with the City of Cincinnati Department of Health, we have isolated the case, quarantined those identified as close contact, and deep cleaned the affected areas. If you were not contacted, you and/or your daughter have NOT been identified as a close contact.

As a routine precaution, we are reminding you to thoroughly screen yourself or your daughter every day before school.  Any individual who is not well should not report to school and report any absences to Ms. Shari Bacon at 961.3410 ext. 123.

Thank you for your commitment and cooperation in helping keep our SUA Community safe. We understand and accept that we cannot fully eliminate all risks, but we can reduce it.

In order to help protect our community:

  • Please monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, which commonly include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Other symptoms include chills, rigors, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste/smell.
  • If symptoms consistent with COVID-19 develop, please stay at home and consult with your primary care physician regarding the next steps.

The overall health and well-being of our SUA Community continue to be a top priority.  With your assistance, and the City of Cincinnati Department of Health, are working to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Saint Ursula Academy continues to work to provide our students with events and activities that honor them as Thinkers, Leaders, Nurturers, and Prophets.  This past week, students were invited to attend our virtual Club and Org Fair.  Ask your daughter what she plans to join this year.

Additionally, during Zero Bell, Community Service Learning leaders Ms. Kemper and Ms. Platz met with the individual classes and introduced them to the array of service experiences that SUA will offer this year.  In listening to their presentations, I was reminded of just how much additional need that there is in our community because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Please encourage your daughter to review the service opportunities on the SUA Community Service website and GET INVOLVED!

Mr. King and Ms. Utecht, along with our student leaders, gathered over 200 National Honor Society members for their first meeting of the 2020-2021 school year. We are pleased to share that we have welcomed 116 new members into the Merician Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Although we will not be able to host a traditional induction ceremony this year, Mr. King and Dr. Whitfield have created a wonderful video celebration to honor the newest members of NHS. Look for the link from Mr. King in the near future.

And, finally, SUA honored our Class of 2021 National Merit Semifinalists.  We are so pleased to announce our Semifinalists:

  • Deirdre Carroll of Kenwood
  • Marygrace Fagan of Loveland
  • Elizabeth Volk of Cleves

SUA is also pleased to announce that Marygrace Fagan was selected for the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program.

A lot of great things are happening at SUA!
