What’s Laura Learning?
I am currently reading Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic - and What We Can Do About It. Dr. Aliza Pressman’s podcast covered this book during an interview with the author, Jennifer Breheny Wallace, in this episode of Raising Good Humans. As we know, achievement is not a bad thing at all - and the very fact that we as parents are interested in knowing more about how to be the very best parents to our kids illustrates how much we want to be successful/achieving as parents!! Ideally, in order to grow a healthy achievement culture for our kids, we would define “success” for them through living our values. She challenges us to take a look at four things: 1. How we spend our time; 2. How we spend our money; 3. What we ask our kids about when they come home; and 4. What we argue with our kids about - because those are the areas where our kids come to understand what we value and where they should be looking to succeed/achieve!
