This week I tuned into "Ask Lisa: The Psychology of Parenting" Podcast Episode 156: Is There a Gentle Way to Drop a Friend? Friend dilemmas are common topics for students to bring to SUA Counseling. Because our students are conscientious and emotionally-aware, they are so careful about how they interact with their peers and we are grateful! In this podcast episode, Dr. Lisa Damour tackles the tricky dynamics of how to handle it when someone wants to be your friend but there is a reason why you are not interested in pursuing that friendship. It's a phenomenal listen for parents guiding their teens to be compassionate leaders and kind humans.
