RELIGION & COUNSELING: Jack Quehl Foundation Speakers in Morality Classes

Date: September 5, 2023
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Parents of Juniors: The Religion and School Counseling departments are collaborating with the Do it for Jack/Jack Quehl Foundation in an effort to stress the importance of healthy choices as our students transition into their lives beyond high school. This local, non-profit organization is dedicated to providing education about the dangers of fentanyl that threatens our community. The school counseling and religion programs at SUA strive to deliver information with an overarching message of a belief in one’s whole self, including a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional and physical well-being. The Jack Quehl Foundation will be visiting and presenting at each of the junior Morality classes during the following weeks: 9/11, 11/20, 2/12, 4/22. A school counselor and religion teacher will be present at all sessions. Talking points for families will be sent home following each classroom session. Although we feel this is relevant, timely and vitally important safety information for our adolescents to hear, we do recognize the sensitive nature of this topic and that this might be difficult for some to process and any student may speak with their religion teacher or counselor at any time with concerns.
