Dear SUA Community,

It is with continued heavy hearts that we share that our school CPD Resource Officer Marcellus Jones died suddenly following a medical emergency. Marcellus will be deeply missed by those of us who worked closely with him. He loved being at his new schools. Whenever we had an issue, he was on campus as soon as possible. He included SUA in his community of officers so if he wasn't available, others would jump in to assist. He was exceptional at his job and prided himself on being a police officer for the CPD.

While only 33 years old, Marcellus made a huge impact on the lives he touched whether it was at his schools, his church, or as a Big Brother. Please keep Officer Jones's family in your thoughts and prayers. We will continue to fly our flag at half staff in his honor.

It has been a rough two weeks for all of us. Please know we continue to support you.
