This year, the Social Justice organization, in collaboration with SUA's Bulldog Boost coffee shop, continues to promote and educate our community about Fair Trade. The goal is to spread awareness about injustices and to prevent modern human slavery by promoting the purchase of Fair Trade goods. Fair Trade is not charity. Rather, it provides sustainable income to some of the world’s poorest people. This website provides a good description of the process. This chocolate sale is not a fundraising activity.
One bag of about 50 small individually wrapped pieces of fairly traded chocolate is $15.
At $15 for a bag of 50 pieces of individually wrapped chocolate, you can improve the quality of life of those who suffer to farm our chocolate. By buying Fair Trade, we are promoting the dignity of human life and taking an action step against slavery that still exists in our world.
