Our programs are grounded in the Ursuline core values of community, compassion, justice, integrity, and excellence. We believe in inspiring students to leave their comfort zones to serve those marginalized in our society, create a culture of inclusion, and work towards achieving a more just and sustainable global world.
In the upcoming two weeks, students will attend homeroom to explain these various opportunities. After these assemblies, the students can begin to sign up for:
We are using a platform to document your daughters' community service involvement and the hours that they may want to document. It is called Innerview. After students create their account with their Saint Ursula Academy email, PLEASE REMIND THEM to go into settings and make sure it is on the private setting and not the public setting. Saint Ursula Academy wants to make sure students' personal information is private to only our SUA community. *Please note, we do not have a specific number of required service hours for graduation. Involvement in our programming is not required; it is expected!
SUA "Big Sisters" meet weekly with their "Little Sisters" at Alliance Academy, every Thursday after school from 3:15 - 4:45 p.m. SUA students carpool to and from Alliance, which is a six-minute drive from Saint Ursula, and are chaperoned by an SUA adult and a Big Brothers Big Sisters adult at all times. At Alliance Academy, they do activities alongside their "Little Sister" and serve as mentors and role models, making this an excellent opportunity for your SUA student to develop strong leadership skills and gain new perspectives about themselves and the world. It is also a fantastic way for your student to meet a new group of like-minded friends who want to volunteer together regularly and be part of the community and network of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati.
To provide consistency and stability in the lives of the "Little Sisters," SUA "Big Sisters" commit to serving in this role for a total of at least TWO consecutive school years (or all four, if they choose!).
The program kicks off on September 10, so please have your SUA student submit their interest to become a "Big Sister" HERE as soon as possible. For questions, please reach out to Laurel Fiorelli at lfiorelli@saintursula.org.
