SERVICE, EQUITY, and GLOBAL EDUCATION

Date:08/19/2525
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Our programs are grounded in the Ursuline core values of community, compassion, justice, integrity, and excellence. We believe in inspiring students to leave their comfort zone to serve those marginalized in our society, create a culture of inclusion and work towards achieving a more just and sustainable global world.

Opportunities

In the upcoming two weeks, students will attend an assembly to explain these various opportunities.  After these assemblies, the students can begin to sign up for:

  • Bulldog Buddies, where SUA tutors meet with local elementary students to do homework help.
  • Student Outreach Services (SOS), where students do monthly service at one of 12 different sites throughout the entire school year.
  •  Social Justice and Equal Rights Club: Using the pillars of Catholic Social Teaching, this group will raise awareness, take action, and respond to issues of justice locally and globally.
  • Bulldog Boost Fair Trade Coffee Shop: The Bulldog Boost is a student run coffee shop located in the back entrance area of our Keller Student Center. This coffee shop serves a variety of drinks using fair trade coffee in compostable cups. It is part of our initiative on campus to educate our students about intentional and ethical purchasing.
    • What exactly is fairly traded coffee, CLICK HERE to learn more.  The Bulldog Boost is open during lunch hours and will open after Labor Day.

INNERVIEW Service Hour Platform

We are using a platform to document your daughters' community service involvement and the hours that they may want to document. It is called Innerview. After students create their account with their Saint Ursula Academy email, PLEASE REMIND THEM to go into settings and make sure it is on the private and not public setting. Saint Ursula Academy wants to make sure student personal information is private to only our SUA community.

Any questions about above Community Service Information, please contact Rachel Kemper at 961-3410 ext. 168 or rkemper@saintursula.org
