A quick glance into Saint Ursula Academy’s Educational Services Program known as ES
SUA’s Educational Services program has been the Greater Cincinnati leader in programming for students with diagnosed learning differences since 1982.
A team of full-time dedicated ES teachers guides each student to learn new skills and strategies so she can embrace her strengths while working to navigate and overcome her challenges. This includes small group tutoring, coursework support, text-to-speech resources, extended time for testing, and tests read by highly qualified and dedicated ES teachers.
A team of ES teachers supports each student's needs from the time she enrolls until graduation. Upon graduation, students are prepared for college, understand how they uniquely learn, know the strategies and resources that work for them, and have the skills to advocate for themselves at the next level and beyond.
Each summer, the ES team sponsors a “Get Organized Day” for their incoming freshmen to help them start their SUA experience on the right foot. They learn how the rotating schedule works and put their own schedules into a color-coded grid. They learn about the importance of time management and complete a time management sheet to help them see where they have pockets of time available for doing homework. A panel of older ES students comes in to talk to them about how to be a successful student at SUA. This year, there were also sessions for sophomores, juniors, and seniors to help them navigate the new schedule and its rotations.
