Soul of the Physical Education Classroom

Date: December 5, 2023
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Regular physical exercise is one of the best things a person can do for their health. Research has found it helps increase our mental health, reduces the risk of disease, and strengthens bone and muscle. One of the benefits of being on a block schedule is the opportunity taking the lessons and activities we are learning in the classroom and apply them to our everyday lives. When exercise and movement are fun they become a way of life and something you can keep doing with family or friends.

Personal Fitness classes worked on individual goals of increasing cardiovascular endurance with our cardio machines, building strength using our newly renovated weight room, and explored various fitness studios that focused on strengthening our core strength and flexibility.

Lifetime Sports focused on individual sports and we worked on our walking for life during field trips.  Physical Education and Team Sports focused on team sports, individual sports, walking and we worked on community relations when playing Cincinnati Fire Department's Engine 23 in mat ball.  We had great family fun days where we competed and focused on family and friends with celebration lunches at Skyline.  All of the term 2 classes will be ice skating at 50 West for our exam. Thank you to the following locations for opening your doors to SUA: Body Alive, Embra Studios, CycleBar, and Burn BootCamp.

Take advantage of this beautiful weather and ask your daughter to go for a walk, play pickleball, go ice skating, or take a fitness class together. Whatever you choose, it will be good for the soul.
