In the Contemporary Issues in Women’s Health class, students explore various health challenges women face in society by researching, presenting, advocating, and supporting local non-profits. This quarter, the class organized a Pink Out during a volleyball game to honor cancer survivors, raising $575 for The Karen Wellington Foundation, which adds some fun during cancer treatments. During Magnified Giving presentations, the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati received supplies and a $500 grant, while the Safe Shelter for Youth (part of Lighthouse Youth and Family Services) was awarded a $1,000 grant to support at-risk youth. Other organizations explored included 1N5, focusing on mental health, and Feed the Soul, which aims to provide vital nutrients to children to improve their health and life outcomes.
