Hello from Mrs. Charters AP Statistics class!
One of the beauties of AP Statistics is that it is completely different than any class the
students have taken before. We are able to connect the concepts we are learning in
class to experiences and activities that bring math to life!
Early in the year, we introduced the concept of a “statistically well-designed experiment”
by eating brownies. This activity allowed students to think about the different aspects of
properly collecting data and, of course, we got to eat some yummy brownies!
This year the battle for which brownie brand was better was between Pillsbury and Betty
Crocker. We have already done our taste testing and data collection and we will unpack
and analyze the results in the next chapter. So, stay tuned to see which brownie brand
was the winner!
