March 13 INVESTING IN THE FUTURE: DECODING COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID, Hosted by the SUA Counseling Department
Building Resilience in Teens, March 6, 5:30 - 7:00pm at the Saint Ursula Academy Keller Student Center REGISTER for Building Resilience in Teens
SUA alumna and special guest Julie Hamilton '95 will discuss the challenges faced by teenagers today and strategies for building resilience. She will provide guidance on how parents can create a supportive environment for their teens to navigate academic and personal challenges. There will be time for questions following her presentation. This event is Free to all parents/guardians and is hosted by the SUA Parent Equity and Inclusion Council.
Julie is a Saint Ursula Academy graduate and a licensed professional counselor. Julie has a Bachelor of Arts in English from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Xavier University. She brings a comprehensive perspective to her work with students and families, enabling her to assess situations holistically. She offers a wealth of experience in education, mental health, and social services and a diverse professional background. Presently, she serves as a licensed professional school counselor at Cincinnati Public Schools.
Doors Open at 5:00pm, the speaker will begin at 5:30pm for about 45 minutes, there will be a 15-minute Q&A, and parents/guardians are welcome to stay and network until 7:00pm.
Investing in the Future: Decoding College Financial Aid (VIRTUAL), March 13 at 6:00pm (Online Only)
Navigating and understanding the many aspects of financial aid and affordability for college can be an important piece of the college application process for virtually all families and their college-bound children. Our next speaker series presenter, Ms. Brandi Lee, will share her vast knowledge and years of experience on the topic of college financial aid on March 13th at 6pm during a virtual ParentSpeaker Series presentation, presented by the counseling department at SUA.
Ms. Lee is the Associate Director of Student Financial Assistance at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She will bring a relatable and down to earth approach to defining financial aid, recent FAFSA changes, and unique circumstances that accompany questions about the cost of higher education.
